I do visual arts combining different mediums and also curate and collaborate with different artists and professionals from different fields. I'm currently developing proposals to create experiences that use art spaces for both conventional and unconventional purposes. For the last decade I’ve dedicated my practice to exploring themes of human migration, the art spaces I’ve traditionally used to tell these stories with the intention of stimulate dialog. My uses of the space it’s like as a map where people can go to experience ways of reading different moments and social realities.
I moved to New York City as an immigrant a place I find unlike anywhere I’ve previously lived where the energy captures possibility and uncertainty in one breath. I’m studying Hispanic communities and the ways these groups adapt to cultural hybridization, while simultaneously attempting to position myself as an artist from Central America. Usually I look for characters who show the acceptance of hybridization as a phenomenon of natural transformation in which we all become part of the city where interactions with other cultures generate new experiences.
I combine my personal artistic practices with curatorial process to use the space (studios, galleries or alternative places) to share my personal experiences and those of people I meet along the way.
